Webinar | Niger: Fallout from the coup

Dragonfly is hosting a webinar looking at the regional security fallouts of the recent coup in Niger.

Dragonfly is hosting a webinar looking at the regional security fallouts of the recent coup in Niger. We will consider its impact on the jihadist threat across the Sahel and on regional stability in West and North Africa.

The coup in Niger that ousted President Mohamed Bazoum on 26 July has once again demonstrated the fragility of elected governments in the Sahel to military takeovers. But it has also again brought to light rifts in diplomatic relations across West Africa. The fallout from the coup is likely to have significant repercussions for the region and businesses operating there.

In this webinar, we will cover:

  • Scenarios for how the situation in Niger is likely to unfold
Prospects for regional cooperation among ECOWAS countries
Vulnerability to regime instability within the wider region
The future of counter-terrorism in the Sahel
This webinar take place on Thursday, 24 August at at 1600hrs London / 1700hrs Paris / 1100hrs New York / 2000hrs Dubai. There will also be an opportunity for you to pose questions to our panel.
