Webinar | South Africa: The demise of the ANC?
Dragonfly is hosting a webinar looking at the security implications of the general election in South Africa scheduled for 29 May.
This May, South Africa will hold a highly consequential election. Support for the ANC party, which has governed since 1994, has been plummeting. An Ipsos survey released on 27 April suggests the ANC is polling far below the threshold required to form a majority government. The prospect of a coalition government will herald a new – and potentially more unstable – political era in South Africa. In this webinar, we will share learnings from a recent trip to Johannesburg and Cape Town.
In this webinar, we will cover:
- Whether the ANC is poised to form a potentially fragile coalition government
- The likelihood of civil unrest in the lead-up to, and after the vote
- The consequences of online domestic and foreign disinformation campaigns
- Our long-term outlook on crime and operational implications for businesses in South Africa
This webinar will take place on Thursday, 9 May at 1000hrs New York / 1500hrs London / 1600hrs Johannesburg / 1800hrs Dubai. It will also include an opportunity for you to pose questions to our panel.
