Briefing | Pakistan: Facing converging crises
Briefing | Pakistan: Facing converging crises
Dragonfly is hosting an online briefing looking at the risk of an acute crisis in Pakistan and its wider geopolitical implications.
Pakistan is edging closer to an acute crisis. The security climate is deteriorating, inflation is rampant and the political situation is becoming ever more unstable. Unprecedented flooding in 2022 and years of economic mismanagement mean there is a high risk of economic collapse. Militants including the Pakistani Taliban (TTP), emboldened since the US withdrawal from Afghanistan in 2021, are mounting increasingly frequent attacks countrywide.Â
Many of our clients have asked us about the likelihood of instability in Pakistan and what the impact would be on geopolitics and the business environment across the region.Â
In this briefing, we will cover:
- Scenarios for the security situation in Pakistan over the next six to eight months
- The risk of widespread civil unrest
- The likelihood of a breakdown in law and order and a military intervention
- How the crisis in Pakistan is likely to impact the Middle East
- How the US and China are likely to respond to this rapidly worsening situation
The briefing will include an opportunity for you to pose questions to our panel. - Places are limited and preference will be given to Dragonfly clients.
