Behind the scenes changes have been happening in Dragonfly. We have built on the success of the market-leading Security and Intelligence Analysis Service (SIAS) by adding a renewed focus on security consulting, an historic area of strength for us.

Dragonfly had many years of providing high-level and well-received consulting services to clients in the security space. We built up a great reputation for dealing with challenging (and often quirky) tasks with intelligence and finesse, over the years delivering expertise in a wide spread of sectors.

The Security & Intelligence practice now does what you might expect from the title. The purpose of the practice is to reduce our clients’ security anxiety and free them up to achieve their goals, knowing their people, assets and reputation are safe. Our vision is that our clients go about their business liberated from any fears about security, being ahead of emerging threats and effortlessly mitigating all security risks whenever, wherever and however they appear.

Using one of the largest intelligence teams in the private sector we not only provide SIAS but a further range of intelligence related subscription services, alongside bespoke geopolitical intelligence reporting. Drawing on this intelligence our converged approach to security consulting adds value particularly in the areas of security risk, crisis risk, enterprise risk and through discrete solutions for individual problems.

  • Our approach is to view problems through the lens of converged security, meaning that we blend physical security with personnel security (insider threat) and cyber security.
  • From this start point we use the calculus of Risk = Threat x Vulnerability x Impact. We might not be able to control the threat, but our expertise helps clients to manage vulnerability and impact, thereby lowering the overall risk.
  • Geopolitical Intelligence includes subscription forecast intelligence (SIAS) along with bespoke intelligence pieces. We have authored country risk reports for clients to support investment decisions, provided monitoring of overlight routes for aviation companies and delivered protective intelligence around locations for film production.
  • Security Risk Management is the catch-all for both consultancies and retained security-management. Our consultancies have included country risk reviews leading to country strategies and comprehensive plans and procedures supported by in-theatre training teams, where in other cases we act as the outsourced security management function for entities that do not (and often need not) have that capability in-house.
  • Crisis Risk Management reflects our expertise at helping organisations to prepare for emergencies and crises, that preparation greatly minimising the impact of the event and accelerating recovery time. We have conducted evacuation planning for global organisations with offices on six continents, and we have prepared crisis management teams to deal with events professionally and effectively.
  • Enterprise Risk Consulting helps the leadership of organisations, particularly large organisations, to hold a coherent view of the security-risk that they might be carrying as often responsibilities for that risk sit across disparate functions. Frequently built on a converged security-risk audit of the enterprise, we have conducted enterprise risk analysis for major international entities, providing board-level assurance of exposure to terrorism risk in all business units in all operating countries.
  • Discrete Solutions are a suite of options that span a wide-range of highly specialist capabilities. Among other skillsets, falling into this category are covert physical and technical surveillance, close protection tasks, bug-sweeping, complex (often high-threat) investigations and asset recovery.
